Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Emarmo (“Emarmo”, “we”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with the Emarmo B2B stone marketplace and its websites, applications, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). It applies to buyers, sellers, inspectors, logistics partners, and visitors to our Platform.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide, information generated as you use the Platform, and information from third parties.

Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, password, and role (buyer, seller, inspector, logistics partner).
  • Business and KYC information: company name, registration number, tax ID, beneficial-owner details, trade references, and uploaded verification documents.
  • Listing and transaction information: product data, pricing, quantities, port and shipping details, quotes, reservations, orders, payments, milestones, inspection reports, returns, and disputes.
  • Communications: messages sent through the Platform, email and support requests, and feedback.

Information generated through your use of the Platform

  • Device and log data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and timestamps.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, clicks, search queries, filters applied, items reserved, and similar interactions used to improve the Platform.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: small data files that help us authenticate you, remember preferences, and measure performance.
  • Authentication data: tokens, refresh tokens, and session metadata used to keep you signed in securely.

Information from third parties

  • Identity verification, sanctions screening, and credit partners that help us perform KYC and risk checks.
  • Payment processors that confirm funding, settlement, and payout status.
  • Logistics, inspection, and customs providers that share shipment, milestone, and document status with us.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Platform, including reservations, orders, payments, container planning, shipping RFQs, inspections, returns, and disputes;
  • Verify identities, evaluate eligibility, perform risk and fraud checks, and comply with anti-money-laundering and sanctions obligations;
  • Facilitate transactions between buyers, sellers, inspectors, and logistics providers, including sharing the information needed for them to perform their roles;
  • Send transactional notifications (for example, milestone reminders, shipment events, OTP codes) and service announcements;
  • Respond to inquiries, provide customer support, and resolve disputes;
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, security incidents, and policy violations;
  • Measure and analyze use of the Platform to improve features, performance, and user experience;
  • Comply with applicable law, legal processes, and enforceable governmental requests.

3. Legal Bases

Where required by law (for example, in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), we rely on the following legal bases to process personal data: performance of a contract; compliance with a legal obligation; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Platform; and your consent, where required.

4. How We Share Information

We share information in the following circumstances:

  • With other users to complete transactions.When a buyer reserves, requests an inspection, or accepts a quote, the relevant counterparty (seller, inspector, logistics partner) receives the information necessary to fulfill the transaction.
  • With service providers. We use vetted vendors for hosting, storage, analytics, customer communications, identity verification, and payment processing. These providers are bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • For compliance and protection. We may share information with law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties if required by applicable law or if necessary to protect the Platform, our users, or third parties.
  • With successors. If Emarmo is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With your consent. We share information with third parties where you have asked us to do so or where you authorize the integration.

We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

5. International Transfers

The Platform serves a global B2B audience. We may transfer, store, and process information in countries other than the country in which it was collected. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active, as necessary to provide the Platform, comply with legal and tax obligations (including export and trade-finance record-keeping), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it.

7. Security

We use a combination of administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, encrypted authentication tokens, secure password hashing, role-based access control, and monitoring of production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you should keep your account credentials confidential and notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

  • Account settings. You can review and update most of your personal and business information in your profile and KYC sections.
  • Communications. Transactional messages (such as security alerts, OTP codes, milestone reminders) are required to operate the Platform. You can opt out of marketing emails by following the instructions in those messages.
  • Sessions. You can review and revoke active sessions from your profile.
  • Requests. To exercise rights that are not covered by self-service controls, contact us at privacy@emarmo.com. We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

If you believe we have not addressed your concern, you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to authenticate users, remember preferences (such as your selected brand theme), analyze usage, and improve the Platform. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but parts of the Platform may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

10. Children

The Platform is intended for use by businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can delete it.

11. Third-Party Services

The Platform may link to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their privacy policies before providing them with information.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on the Platform and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
